Before You Begin
Microsoft Windows Server 2016 RDS (Remote Desktop Services) enables users to remotely access desktops and applications. To legally use RDS, client access licenses (CALs) are required. The 50 User CAL version allows 50 individual users to access the RDS environment from any device.

Step 1: Installation Step-by-Step
Installing the RD Licensing Role
- Open Server Manager on the Windows Server 2016 server.
- Click Add Roles and Features.
- Select Remote Desktop Services and add the RD Licensing role.

Activating the RD Licensing Server
- Open Remote Desktop Licensing Manager.
