This error occurs in: Office 2016, Office 2019, Office 2021, Office 2024, Microsoft 365.

Cause

The Office package does not have a valid license. This may be due to the expiration of the Microsoft 365 subscription, an incorrect key, or installation on too many devices.

Symptoms

• During activation, the message appears: "Office package is unlicensed — unlicensed product"
• Error code: 0x4004F00C
• English version: "Microsoft Office was unable to activate"

Step-by-Step Solution

Open any Office application > File > Account and check the license status. Log in to the correct Microsoft account or enter the product key. For M365: check the subscription status at office.com/myaccount.

Solution for Office

1. Open any Office application (Word, Excel)
2. File → Account → Change product key
3. Enter the key from KluczeSoft
4. Click Activate
