Cause

The Windows system cannot find a valid digital license or product key. This most often happens after replacing the main board, reinstalling the system, or changing significant hardware components.

• During activation, the message appears: "Windows requires a valid digital license or product key"
• Error code: 0x803F7001
• English version: "Windows requires a valid digital license or product key"

Step-by-step solution

Open Settings > Update and Security > Activation and click 'Troubleshoot'. You can also link the digital license to your Microsoft account.

Method 1: Reactivation through Settings

1. Open Settings → System → Activation
2. Click Troubleshoot (if available)
3. Click Change product key
4. Enter the key from KluczeSoft and click Next → Activate

Method 2: Activation through command line

Open Command Prompt as administrator and enter:

slmgr /ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
slmgr /ato

Replace XXXXX-... with your product key.

Method 3: Phone activation

If online activation does not work:

Call the displayed number and follow the instructions.

Verification

After performing the steps, check if the activation was successful:

• Windows: Settings → System → Activation → should be "Windows is activated"
• Or: slmgr /xpr in the command line
