Error 0xC004F034: Product key does not match the Windows version
This error occurs in: Windows 10, Windows 11.
Cause
A key for a different edition or version of Windows has been entered than the one installed (e.g., a Home key for a Pro installation, or an EN key for a PL OEM installation).
Symptoms
- During activation, the message appears: "Product key does not match the installed Windows version"
- Error code:
0xC004F034 - English version: "The product key does not match the installed Windows version"
Step-by-step solution
Check the installed edition in Settings > System > Information. Use a key that exactly matches this edition (Home/Pro/Enterprise). If you have Pro and the key is Home, you need to reinstall Windows or purchase a Pro key.
Method 1: Reactivation through Settings
- Open Settings → System → Activation
- Click Troubleshoot (if available)
- Click Change product key
- Enter the key from KluczeSoft and click Next → Activate
Method 2: Activation through command line
Open Command Prompt as administrator and enter:
slmgr /ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
slmgr /ato
Replace XXXXX-... with your product key.
Method 3: Phone activation
If online activation does not work:
slui 4
Call the displayed number and follow the instructions.
Verification
After performing the steps, check if the activation was successful:
- Windows: Settings → System → Activation → should be "Windows is activated"
- Or:
slmgr /xprin the command line

- Check date and time — they must be correct (incorrect date can block activation)
- Temporarily disable antivirus and try again
