Step-by-Step Solution
Contact the licence seller and request a key exchange. Ensure you purchased the licence from an authorised seller. You can also contact Microsoft, providing proof of purchase.
Solution for Windows Server
- Open PowerShell as administrator
- Enter the key:
slmgr /ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
- Activate:
slmgr /ato
- Check the status:
slmgr /xpr
Verification
After performing the steps, check if the activation was successful:
- Windows: Settings → System → Activation → should be "Windows is activated"
- Or:
slmgr /xprin the command line
