How to install Microsoft Outlook 2019 — a complete guide

Downloading the installer

It's safest to download the installer exclusively from official Microsoft sources. In practice, you have two options:

Standard download

If you receive instructions or a link with your order, download the installer according to the information from KluczeSoft and make sure you're installing Outlook 2019, not Microsoft 365 or Outlook from another package.

Download via Office Deployment Tool

If you need a clean installation, use the Office Deployment Tool and prepare a configuration for the Outlook2019Retail product. This is also a good method when you want to avoid installing unnecessary Office package components.

Step-by-step installation

Clean installation

1. Uninstall older or trial versions of Office, especially pre-installed Microsoft 365.
2. Run the downloaded Outlook 2019 installer.

Activation verification

The easiest way to check the status is in File > Account. A message like Product activated should appear.

Troubleshooting

Most often indicates a problem with KMS activation or incorrect installation editing. Check if you have the correct Outlook 2019 variant and re-enter the key using ospp.vbs /inpkey.

The key was rejected as invalid or blocked. Ensure you are entering the exact key for Outlook 2019, not another product.

0x80070005 Access Denied

CMD was run without administrator privileges. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and repeat the commands.

There is a different Office edition installed on the computer than the one the key is for. Most often, uninstalling the Microsoft 365 trial version and reinstalling the correct Outlook 2019 helps.

Outlook asks for activation every time it starts

This is a common symptom of a conflict with pre-installed Office on a new computer. Remove the remnants of the older or trial version, restart the system, and reactivate.

ospp.vbs not found

You have the wrong path. Check both directories: Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16 and Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16.
